Veerappa Food and Spices was established in April 2016 by our Founder Mr. Gaurav Mendse. His vision was driven by a team of food enthusiasts and qualified professionals, led by an experienced chef in Indian cooking—his mom.

In April 2016, the company started with just one spice blend, Kolhapuri Masala (Onion Garlic Masala), an age-old recipe passed down from Gaurav's family.

Expansion for Commercial Range

Within two years, Veerappa Food and Spices expanded to a commercial range of 20 different and unique spice blends.

The Inspiration Behind the Brand

The brand logo, VEERAPPA, was inspired by Gaurav's great-grandfather, whose name meant 'the brave'. The logo featured three horizontal stripes on the letter 'U', representing the 'Bhasma' on Lord Shiva's forehead, a Hindu deity worshiped by the family for generations.
The three colored leaves in the spoon symbolize the most used Indian spices & Indian Masala items—Red Chili, Yellow Turmeric, and Green Coriander. The background color represents a roasted Indian spice mix powder, and the rising sun depicts the bright ray of light, energy, and renewed hope brought by each new day.
